Khaki Love

Khaki military shirt

Chillin' in khaki this week. I became obsessed with khaki back in spring when I bought this khaki cargo jacket which I love, but it's slightly too thick for this crazy British humidity (notice I didn't use the word 'summer' haha). I was on the hunt for a shirt instead and found this khaki military-style shirt in New Look on a little shopping trip to Westfields a couple of weeks ago. I was originally eyeing up a Topshop version, so the fact that this was half the price makes me very happy indeed!

I sized up with the shirt as I wanted a loose, oversized fit to throw on with jeans and shorts. I'm also debuting my new sandals which I love! I bought them a few weeks ago but thanks to copious amounts of rain, I've managed to wear them a total of three times. You know when you get something new and you just want to wear it every day? Yeah, that. So they're definitely coming with me on holiday to Menorca. I'm actually really impressed with these sandals - I usually like to spend quite a lot of money on shoes so that they're comfortable and so they last, but these Oasis beauties were less than £30 and are yet to give me a blister!

Hope you've had a good weekend - I'm currently praying for some 'normal' summer weather so I don't have to keep leaving the house in a summer dress with an umbrella and a pair of wellies...

P.S. Sorry my blog is a bit all over the place, currently sorting out my new theme!

Going Underground

Hello my lovelies! This weather has really thrown my blogging schedule out, so apologies if it's been a little quiet over here lately. I had so many outfits lined up but none of them were rain-friendly would you believe. I took the day off on Friday for a day out with my boyfriend, to be honest we're pretty awful at planning days out and 'date nights', we usually just bimble around! So we decided to go to London for the day - I'd never been to the museums so Nathan took me round and I instantly fell in love with the Natural History Museum. My inner geek had a fab time and yes, I'm one of those people who has to read everything and play with all the interactive stuff!

We then went to the Science Museum which was good, but not as science-y as I'd hoped. I've been to Eureka and Magma before so my inner nerd was slightly disappointed it wasn't on this scale and some of the floors were shut too. Still good to look around! We also stumbled across the perfect photo location on the way back to the tube. The lighting wasn't the best but I love the grungey look and feel of this location.

We spent the evening at Westfields shopping, having a Mexican dinner and drinking cocktails - the perfect end to a busy day being all nerdy and cultural! I dressed with comfort and temperamental weather in mind, sporting my beloved bomber jacket (which I love for summer as it's really light), a cami, skinny jeans and my trusty New Balance 410s. And a massive bag because I can never pack light, even for one day.

Hope you're having a chilled weekend!

Boho Vibes

Denim skirt

Finally! Summer seems to back (for now) and I'm managing to wear some of my summer outfits that have been sat in my wardrobe patiently waiting for a sunny day. I've had a bit of a haul recently, after discovering I have no summer clothes (honest) including yet another cold shoulder top. I'm a little obsessed with them this season and this New Look beauty is no exception. The embroidered trim and the crepe-like fabric give it a summery boho feel - this one is definitely coming on holiday with me in a few weeks!

Get your legs out! Look at those pasty pins - someone give the girl a tan. I also bought this denim skirt from Missguided after being on the hunt for a denim skirt for ages. I couldn't decide between a vintage frayed version or a bold blue look, until I found this bold little mini for less than £20 (er, hello bargain). I love the bright blue colour for summer and it can easily be dressed up for the evening too - got to love a multi-tasker!

The top and skirt combined cost less than £40 (maybe less using student discount!) which I think is pretty good for a summer outfit. Hope you're all having a lovely weekend in the sun. I've been max-relaxing after a week of being poorly so a chilled weekend in the sun has been absolute bliss.
