House of Fraser Autumn/Winter Preview

Last week I was invited to attend the House of Fraser A/W press event...which basically meant I got to have a good snoop around their upcoming collections! Not one to pass up an opportunity for a good nose around, I headed to London with my SLR in hand. I loved looking around both the fashion and homeware showrooms and there are so many amazing trends to look forward to. I also met the lovely Emily and we had a good few hours wandering around the collections and having a natter!

Womenswear AW15
I’ve recently taken to the colour yellow and love its vibrancy so the yellow coat above is perfect for a bold statement. It can be easily toned down with monochrome or paired with corals/fuchsias for some colour blocking if you’re feeling brave. I’m a big kid in the way that I have an obsession of all things fluffy (IT’S SO FLUFFY) so the furry bags, gilets and coats were also a major hit with me - I totally have my eye on the biker jacket with fur collar. You will be mine. Other loves included: pretty much all the bags (hello muted pastels and geometric designs), cut-out heels, soft knits and casual tops because I love a good slouch tee.

Homeware AW15

I had a great time mooching round the homeware and dreaming of it all in my apartment. Apart from knocking pretty much everything over (I’m a massive klutz and shouldn’t be allowed near anything remotely breakable) I loved walking round their showroom which had been made up like a real home. The vibrant bedding stole the show for me and I wanted everything from the dining section. Expect to see plenty of metallics for the industry look in the House of Fraser A/W collection including industrial style lighting and bronze cutlery (HUGE LOVE). The furry throws, knitted blankets and cosy cushions were also favourites of mine – all that was needed was a log fire and a good film and I would’ve made myself at home there!

What do you have your eye on from the House of Fraser Autumn/Winter collection?

Sunshine Florals

Bonsoir. So I've just got back from a whirlwind trip to Nice - if you follow me on Instagram I apologise for spamming you with beach photos! It's hard not to be snap-happy when you're in such a beautiful place. I would totally recommend Nice if you're looking for a trip away, we also hopped on the train to Monaco which was amazing but I'll do a separate post on my travels next week otherwise I'll be chattering on forever. I managed to get a few outfit snaps on my first day and have the sun and blue sea to thank for an amazing background!

I've had these shorts lined up for ages but thanks to the UK weather I hadn't had a chance to wear them yet/I've been scared to unleash my super pale legs on the world. I love the colourful floral print and high waisted style - perfect for summer. I've paired them with one of my fav white tops (it has a cute scallop hem which you can't see as I've tucked it in) but also glammed them up for the evening with a navy/black cami. They're definitely going to be one of my summer staples along with my tassel bag (which I love but  I keep trapping the tassels in absolutely EVERYTHING).

Silver Arrows

I'm loving simple jewellery at the moment so when I was contacted by the lovely Rebecca from This Material Culture I instantly fell for this handmade silver arrows necklace! I've been pairing simple, quirky pieces with casual tees such as a charcoal round neck and a pair of ripped skinnys to glam up a casual daytime look. Whilst I've always been a fan of a good old chunky statement necklace, I love having some simple pieces as they make the perfect subtle statement. I've always had a thing for arrows, I'm not entirely sure why. Maybe it's my inner Katniss Everdeen trying to break out!

If you're a regular reader, you'll know that I love a good bargain and I love good value for money. I rarely splash out and I spend most of my time in High Street stores knee-deep in budget fashion, which is another reason I love this necklace and the philosophy of This Material Culture. Can you believe this is only a fiver?!
